Challenges of teaching physical education at schools during covid-19 pandemic from the perspective of teachers

چکیده
Introduction: In late 2019 and early 2020, a new deadly disease called coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) broke out in China and Southeast Asia. Coronavirus has effects on teachers, students and their parents. According to UNESCO, at the end of April 2020, educational institutions shut down in 186 countries, affecting approximately 74% of total enrolled learners on the worldwide. A lot of disabled students were influenced physically, emotionally, mentally and their communications have been stalled.
Method: The aim of this study was to identify the challenges of physical education in primary schools. The present study was a qualitative research with a phenomenological approach. Participants in the study included all primary school teachers who were selected by purposive sampling method. The interview data collection tool was semi-structured. Thematic analysis was used to analyze the data.
Results: The findings from interviews with teachers led to the identification of 22 initial codes, which in the step, from the combination and integration of similar codes of sub-themes, and finally from the combination of sub-themes, the main themes were extracted and included: low student participation in education in e-learning, teachers' lack of motivation, lack of equal access to educational tools for students and the meaninglessness of physical education in virtual education for students
Conclusion: Coronary heart disease has had many adverse effects on the state of the health, economic, and political system throughout the world, and one of the subjects most strongly affected by the disease was physical education. With the spread of this disease and the change in the method of teaching from face to face, the problems of students and teachers doubled.
